- Description
We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Purchasing Manager to lead and develop our procurement function. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage a small team of buyers, take ownership of supplier relationships, and ensure the business secures the best possible value across all categories. The role is office-based in Daventry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and continuously improve purchasing and procurement processes.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal results on cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Monitor, analyse, and forecast material and product demand to ensure consistent supply and efficient stock levels.
- Review spend data to identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships, ensuring long-term value and minimising supply chain risk.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement improvement plans where necessary.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams—including operations, production, and finance—to ensure a smooth and reliable supply chain.

The Salary:
The business will offer a salary designed to attract their preferred candidate and this will depend on experience. It is likely to be in the region of £45,000.
The Person
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, ideally at manager level.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Commercially astute, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with excellent relationship-building and influencing skills.
- Strong IT literacy and familiarity with procurement or ERP systems.
- This is an office-based role. Suitable candidates will live within a commutable distance of Daventry.
