The Role

A Sales / Commercial Manager role to lead the business, develop growth strategies, and strengthen client and trade relationships. This is a pivotal leadership position with responsibility for driving both sales and marketing performance, enhancing internal processes, and overseeing day-to-day commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver sales and marketing strategies to drive growth across Direct and Trade channels.
  • Track key KPIs and ROI, using market insights to refine campaigns and identify new opportunities.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with trade partners, agents, and distributors, while identifying new business prospects.
  • Oversee communication between departments to ensure successful order delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Recruit and manage staff, including temporary teams during peak periods.
  • Review and improve operational processes in production and customer service.
  • Collaborate with directors, sales, and marketing teams to ensure consistent brand voice and annual campaign planning.
  • Review product ranges, support new product development—particularly in-house manufactured items.
  • Represent the brand at trade exhibitions and attend meetings as required.
  • Manage the Bristol office and contribute hands-on support during high-volume periods.
  • Monitor project costs and manage financial risk effectively.

The Candidate

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially driven B2B experienced sales manager, someone who is a results-driven leader with strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage both strategy and hands-on operations.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven sales management experience, including direct team leadership.
  • Experience directing successful marketing campaigns, with strong digital knowledge.
  • Strong commercial acumen in pricing, margin management, and volume analysis.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and customer service.
  • Excellent communication, motivation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with good working knowledge of BI tools, Excel, and Access.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and willing to be hands-on during busy seasons.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to work independently.
