Our client, a market leader with unrivalled reach in the AFH industry, is offering a rare opportunity for a General Manager to take full accountability for divisional performance. A major supplier to a wide range of customers ranging from foodservice wholesalers to hygiene and waste management companies, they have also identified further growth opportunities that are ready to be exploited, particularly within the local authorities and facilities management sectors.
This is a pivotal role, combining commercial leadership with strategic oversight across sales, purchasing, and customer service.
You’ll bring the energy, commercial acumen, and foresight to deliver sustainable growth in a highly competitive market. Beyond leading existing business functions, you’ll be instrumental in identifying and launching new product opportunities, ensuring the division remains ahead of the curve.
As a leader, you’ll be both inspirational and pragmatic, able to set a clear vision while empowering your team to achieve excellence. You’ll foster a results-driven culture built on collaboration, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
What We’re Looking For:
- A proven track record in senior commercial or general management roles, ideally within AFH, facilities, or FMCG trading.
- Strong knowledge of the Local Authority and Facilities Management markets (highly advantageous).
- Evidence of driving significant sales growth and improving margins.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage cross-functional teams.
- Commercial sharpness, pricing, negotiation, and full P&L responsibility.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of stakeholders.
- A data-driven, analytical approach to decision-making.
