Job Description:
  • Leading and developing a team of Credit Management Clerks.
  • Reviewing outstanding debtors to ensure debt is collected in line with procedure and monthly set targets.
  • Preparing and issuing litigation and bad debt packs to the Litigation department.
  • Credit card reconciliations.
  • Reviewing credit risk position and enforcing account sanctions where applicable.
  • Month end cash forecasts and month end reporting.
  • Signing off cheque and bacs requisitions.
  • Monitoring department queries.
  • Approving / rejecting credits in accordance with the credit policy.
  • Managing the billing dashboard to ensure all consignments are billed accurately and on time.
  • Publishing various credit management reports on time and accurately.
  • Attending daily / weekly review meetings with Credit Manager.
  • Assisting Credit Manager when necessary.
  • Ensuring best practice is maintained at all times.
  • Team absence management, absence cover, return to work interviews, holiday approval, yearly appraisals etc.
  • Dealing with escalations from the team and dealing with customer complaints.
  • Diffusing and resolving conflict when necessary.
  • Motivating team members.
  • Reviewing call quality scores and discussing feedback with team.
  • Leading by example and demonstrating company’s DNA and strategies.
  • Working proactively and professionally with other Team Leaders, Supervisors and Managers across the business.
  • Reviewing, implementing and monitoring targets for all team members.
 
About the role:
  • Enforce the company’s credit management policy, maximise cash flow and minimise the company’s exposure to bad and doubtful debts.
  • Manage and develop a team of Credit Management clerks.
 
Key Skills/Experience Required:
  • Experience of managing a complex and demanding workload.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Ability to make well informed decisions based on all available relevant information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build good relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Good written communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced IT skills.
