Job Description: Business Development Manager
- To £50,000 + commission, company car, fuel card, credit card, healthcare, 25 days holiday, laptop, mobile.
- Working from home, you will be tasked with approaching and converting new garden centre customers that are not already stockists of this brand. Key responsibilities will include:
- Work with the Board to understand the proposition and sales priorities.
- Review the database of non-stockists and build a sales plan.
- Contact decision makers in each setting to secure a meeting.
- Establish needs and present the benefits of stocking the range.
- Secure orders and manage the process of in-store set up.
- Attend trade shows and events (eg. Solex).
- Provide regular feedback to the Board.
- Explore opportunities for new products and new sales channels.
About the Company:
- We are working with a well established supplier of beautifully designed outdoor furniture with an impressive track record of sales to the leading garden centre groups and independents.
- Still highly ambitious, the Managing Director has created this appointment to drive further sales growth by reaching new stockists with container or ex-warehouse options.
Candidate Profile: Business Development Manager
This is a business development role that requires a hunter style of sales candidate who enjoys the excitement of new business wins. Previous experience selling to garden centres is preferred by not essential.
The key requirements are:
- Able to work from home and travel to customer meetings throughout the UK
- A proven track record of success in new business sales
- Exceptional planning and organisational skills
- Ideally with experience selling to garden centres
- Understands the sales funnel and how to convert cold leads into orders
- Excellent communication skills and a polished presenter.
