Job Description: Business Development Manager
To £46,000 + performance based bonus, company car, or car allowance, 25 days holiday, laptop, mobile.
While you will be given a small number of customers to manage, the focus of this role is to expand the number of stockists of this company’s fantastic range of garden sheds, summerhouses, greenhouses and buildings. They have a target list of prospect accounts and you will have the full support of the UK head office to access sales and marketing resources.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Work with the Sales Manager and existing stockists to understand the sales proposition.
- Follow leads to secure appointments with buyers.
- Approach new prospects and make new contacts.
- Establish needs and present the benefits of stocking the range.
- Secure orders and manage the process of in-store set up.
- Attend trade shows and events (e.g. GLEE).
- Provide regular feedback to the Board.
- Explore opportunities for new products and new sales channels.
About the Company:
Our client is a leading British manufacturer of high-quality garden sheds, summerhouses, greenhouses and outdoor offices. Already successful in the ecommerce channel, they are keen to expand their distribution to garden centres.
Candidate Profile: Business Development Manager
This is new business focused role so requires a determined, hunter style of sales candidate. Previous experience selling to garden centres is preferred by not essential.
The key requirements are:
- Able to work from home and travel to customer meetings throughout the UK
- A proven track record of success in new business sales
- Exceptional planning and organisational skills
- Ideally with experience selling to garden centres
- Understands the sales funnel and how to convert cold leads into orders
- Excellent communication skills and a polished presenter.
