Description
  • The Company:
    A new position to co-ordinate the flow of product from supplier to customer. An SME and family owned company with history going back to 1856. They are one of the UK’s leading stationery and art manufacturers and the global market leader in calligraphic product.
     
    Recently they bought a UK distribution business, Lime Stationery, that focuses on purchasing/stocking products from global stationery/art and gift brands and supplying them into UK retailers. Both businesses require a very efficient supply chain and stock management system. The company deals with many of the largest retailers in their field globally, and this includes an increasing importance with Amazon in the UK.
     
    The candidate must have previous experience in managing the supply of raw material for making product and finished goods also on a global scale. Ideally the candidate will have worked with commercial goods previously.
     
    The Role:
    • Management of a team of two including Planner and Purchasing Administrator.
    • Controlling stock levels and managing forecasting to meet sales demands.
    • Overall stock management including raising purchase orders and timely stock deliveries.
    • Liaising with team to communicate factory deliveries and shipping schedules.
    • Overseeing and coordinating the quality control elements of the business.
    • Understanding their global supply chain and developing key supplier relationships.
    • Liaising with all global suppliers both of raw materials and finished goods.
    • Working to reduce the overall stock holding value at warehouse(s) and supply partners.
    • Focusing on cost improvements across the Supply Chain.
    • Implementing contractual agreements and supply chain documentation.
    • Negotiating and agreeing annual pricing with sensible MOQ based on demands.
    • Analysing lead-times and ensuring improvements are put in place.
    • Auditing current processes and procedures and implementing improvements.
    • End to end supplier management and formulating business relationships.
    • Working with the Compliance Officer to ensure products are brought in compliantly.
    • Ensuring product specifications are met and quality issues are raised with supply chain.
    • Reconciling stock movement, discrepancies and pushing forward stock clearance strategy.
    • Management of annual stock take.
    • Communicating with the wider team to manage customer expectations.

    Key Skills: 
    • Experience in Supply Chain, ideally with knowledge of purchasing piece parts and finish goods globally.
    • The ability to plan strategically with excellent negotiation skills.
    • Able to carry out detailed analysis and present recommendations.
    • Driven individual looking to innovate, effect and respond to change.
    • Willingness to travel as may be required.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes including Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word.
    • Proven track record in reducing stock levels as a % against turnover.
