Job Description:
  • Daily management of accounts.
  • Banking for client and firm’s accounts.
  • Compliance with SRA and AML rules.
  • Posting client and office receipts, payments and internal transfers.
  • Daily and monthly bank reconciliations. 
  • Online banking daily.
  • Paying invoices. 
  • Processing Purchase Ledger and Land Registry payments.
  • Liaising with banks regarding incoming client funds and bank transfers.
  • Petty cash, VAT.
  • Dealing with queries from partners, fee earners and support staff.
Other Duties:
  • Assisting partners and staff with day to day accounting queries.
  • Handling the company’s financial records in accordance with relevant regulations.
  • Posting both client and office account transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Processing of supplier invoices and staff expenses and dealing with all online banking processes (receipts and payments, office and client account transfers and reconciliations).
  • You will also be responsible for running month end procedures.
  • Other duties may be required depending on the level of experience being brought to the role.
Key Skills/Experience Required:
  • Accurate – attention to detail.
  • Numerate – awareness of double entry bookkeeping. 
  • Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules – accounts related qualification. 
  • Ability to work in a small team.
  • Good communication skills, polite and well-spoken.  
  • Well organised and methodical and being able to work under pressure.
  • Adaptability, flexibility and being proactive.
Salary/Benefits Information:
  • Salary £17,000 - £19,000.
  • Company pension scheme, life assurance.
