Job Description: Area Sales Manager
This is a unique sales role offered by a quality employer that combines account management with new stockist acquisition. You will be their only Representative in the South of the UK and able to define your own sales area – broadly within a 90 mile radius of your home.
Responsibilities will include:
- Visiting existing customers and prospecting in the same area.
- Working with garden centre customers on range, displays, pricing and promotions.
- Providing merchandising support and retail staff training.
- Conducting seasonal business reviews and securing additional retail space.
- Manage own diary to maximise effective selling time
About the Company:
- A leading European manufacturer with strong environmental credentials that supplies products to 200 garden centres in the Uk and is enjoying rapid sales growth with multiples, buying groups and independents. The only supplier in its category to be endorsed by the National Trust.
Candidate Profile: Area Sales Manager
This role offers complete autonomy for the job holder to create and execute their own sales plan that will deliver maximum customer impact and sales growth. We are looking for:
- A proven track record of field sales success with independent retailers.
- Sales experience to garden centres is helpful but not essential
- A CV that demonstrates loyalty, resilience and commitment
- A mature, self-managing and accountable individual
- Numerate and comfortable negotiating price, RRP and margins
Salary/Benefits Information:
- The job holder will enjoy a basic salary in the range of £40,000 - £45,000 plus an annual bonus on results. The company will provide a choice of new leased vehicle with hybrid of electric options. 25 days holiday and all business expenses and support.
