Description

Our client is a successful and consistently growing business within the health and beauty, personal care and gift sectors, supplying both independent and major retailers, globally, with their fantastic range of products. The role:

Working on product development for one of the company’s major accounts: TJX/TK Maxx; this role will collaborate with suppliers and internal product development, design and sales teams to develop and launch new products.  an innovative and detail-oriented Product Developer with the ability to work within a commercially focused and fast paced environment.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead negotiations and strategic discussions with suppliers on product costings across all brands and categories, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives and profitability goals.
  • Develop creative and comprehensive Artwork and Concept Briefs, guiding the graphic design team to align with brand vision, customer requirements and market needs.
  • Initiate and manage key supplier relationships, driving long-term partnerships, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring continuous improvement in product development processes.
  • Manage Critical Paths, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, meet the strategic goals of key stakeholders and are appropriately communicated to the sales team.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration, ensuring seamless communication between product development, design, sales, operations, and other teams, to guarantee the successful execution of projects. Identify and initiate efficiencies across key processes.
  • Lead sample assessments for new products, making critical decisions to ensure all products meet quality standards and align with brand expectations. Provide support and guidance to the Product Development team on sample approval processes.
  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and new opportunities. Action NPD accurately and timely to ensure we are first-to-market.
  • Prepare and deliver high-level, customer-facing presentations to pitch new products and showcase brand strengths, influencing key business stakeholders and customers.
  • Lead customer meetings alongside sales, showcasing new product development and brand strategies, while actively adding value by providing PD insights, addressing customer needs, and offering tailored solutions to strengthen partnerships and drive business growth.
  • Manage and track product development milestones, driving accountability and ensuring the timely execution of product launches.
  • Work alongside the design team to prepare Marketing materials for trade shows and e-commerce.

 

The person:

The ideal candidate will have:

 

  • 5+ Years experience within a product development role, with a proven track record of leading and managing high-impact and high-volume projects across multiple categories
  • Advanced understanding of product costing, pricing strategies, and negotiation tactics, with a history of driving cost-efficient solutions while maintaining product quality and profitability.
  • Whilst not essential, experience in personal care, skincare, or bath and body or allied sectors is ideal and experience of working with TK Maxx/TJX will be distinctly advantageous.
  • A strategic approach to identifying market trends, consumer needs, and product innovation opportunities
  • Demonstrable ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic business environments, managing multiple, complex projects simultaneously and ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Strong passion for innovation and trend forecasting, with a proven ability to lead product development strategies that anticipate market shifts and consumer preferences.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with experience overseeing end-to-end product development, managing critical paths, and leading cross-functional teams to meet organizational goals.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, marketing, and sales, while also being able to work independently to drive initiatives forward and deliver results.
  • Highly proactive, highly organized, and solution-oriented approach, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt strategies to changing market conditions.
  • Advanced IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and project management tools, with the ability to leverage technology to improve efficiency and decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a history of delivering compelling presentations to senior stakeholders, clients, and customers.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring product quality, accuracy, and alignment with brand standards at every stage of the development process.

 

You should live within a commutable distance to central London, to be in the office 2-3 days per week.

 

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 (DOE) + bonus
