The Company:

BHETA are a Trade Association that represents manufacturers and distributors to the Home Improvement (DIY) & Gardening sector and the Housewares & Small Electrical sector, we are a proactive association and take pride in the excellent range of services and initiatives designed to help and support our members. BHETA has approximately 300 members who are responsible for £13bn of retail sales and employ over 14,000 people. Our offices are in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham.

 

BHETA operate to provide a platform for its members to network, receive market data, access key retail partners, participate in exhibitions both home and internationally, facilitate export expansion, lobby on relevant issues affecting members , and receive general business support via our service providers. It always represents member’s interests and provides an essential link in the supply chain process.

 

Sector Manager – The Role:

Responsible for the recruitment, retention & engagement of membership for the Home Improvement (DIY) & Gardening sector of The British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA).

 

This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and will be field based.

 

Skill and attributes:

  • You will be working in the DIY/Gardening industry in a senior commercial role and will have knowledge and experience of  Sales and National Account management
  • Will have real passion for the industry and drive to make a difference
  • Will have a good understanding of current industry challenges and topics
  • Will have established industry contacts with industry Retail/Trade commercial teams
  • An individual who commands respect from their teammates and industry peers
  • Self- starter, used to working outside of an office-based environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Have strong commercial acumen
  • Open, honest and a good team player who enjoys variety
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, including Board, and present to large audiences
  • Work closely with the DIY steering committee

 

This role represents an exciting opportunity for a senior commercial individual to take their career in an exciting direction. It is likely that you are a Sales Director/National Sales Manager currently looking for something a little different. This role will enable someone to step away from the hamster wheel, whilst still operating at a senior level. We are keen to speak to people at a point in their career that would enable them to do this.

 

Salary and Benefits:

 

Salary – To £54,500 Basic + Bonus + Car Allowance + Benefits

 

The role offers a competitive salary package with on target bonus incentives, car allowance, overseas medical insurance, and pension package. Candidates will be expected to have the facility to work remotely from the Birmingham based office but will have desk access and full support from the central team.
