Looking for an Area Sales Manager to cover Scotland touching into Northern England looking after a mix of customers across independent retailers, builder’s merchants, wholesalers and garden centres.
You Will Have The Following Duties:- Achieve turnover and profit targets.
- Achieve set KPIs within the sector in line with company objectives.
- Use all systems and data available to carefully identify customer requirements and sales strategy, and to plan all call carefully and methodically.
- Record all meetings into the systems provided and work with the National Sales Manager to grow business.
- Build strong professional relationships with team members.
- Develop a high level understanding of the independent sector.
- Display a willingness to learn and immerse themselves into the DIY category.
- Take a positive approach to difficult situations without getting flustered.
- Communicate effectively at all levels (internally and externally).
- To be creative in their thinking and deliver results.

Key Skills/Experience Required:- For this Area Sales Manager position you will have experience selling into independent retailers, builder’s merchants or wholesale customers.
- A background in DIY/building products/decorative would be advantageous but full product training will be provided.
- You must be able to diary plan to cover the large territory and be able to spend nights away when visiting the furthest areas of the allocated territory.
- You will be driven and keen to develop the area building on a successful patch and developing new and existing customer relationships.
- Proficient IT capabilities in particular with Excel and PowerPoint
