- Description
We're seeking an experienced and proactive Purchasing Manager to lead purchasing operations for a successful, growing British consumer goods business (Health & Beauty) based in Wimbledon. You'll take ownership of procurement strategy, supplier relationships, inventory and budget management, and product development initiatives — ensuring the right products land at the right time and the right price.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on, office-based role suited to a Purchasing Manager with strong leadership instincts, sharp market awareness, and the ability to work confidently across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business growth targets
- Build, manage, and develop supplier relationships across international markets
- Oversee inventory planning and purchasing budgets
- Support and drive product development initiatives in partnership with design/product teams
- Manage import/export compliance across relevant trade regions
- Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team
- Partner cross-functionally with finance, logistics, and commercial teams

The Package
The Purchasing Manager will earn a basic salary in the region of £42,000–£50,000 depending on the successful candidate's skills and experience.
The Person
- Experience: Managerial experience with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams. 3 years’ experience in Purchasing / Procurement is desired.
- Skills: Advanced Excel or equivalent data analysis capability; familiarity with systems such NetSuite is an advantage
- Background: Your Purchasing / Procurement experience will have been attained working with consumer goods. While Health & beauty or fashion experience is especially welcome, experience in any consumer goods category willbe of interest.
- Attributes: Self-driven, commercially astute, adaptable, and able to perform under pressure
- Qualifications: Fluent written and spoken English essential. MCIPS (or similar) preferred;
- Location: Office-based, within commutable distance of Wimbledon
