Regional Commercial Underwriter

One of the UK’s leading insurance companies seeks an experienced Commercial Underwriter to join their busy Commercial team.  hey seek a dynamic and motivated individual that seeks a challenge and ideally is looking for career progression.

 

The Role:

The Regional Commercial Underwriter will join a team providing dedicated underwriting support to a network of Brokers across Herefordshire, South Wales and Gloucestershire.

You’ll be responsible for underwriting a portfolio of commercial combined risks and, using your technical expertise, you will negotiate on large commercial account reviews and connected portfolios, engaging with Subject Matter Experts when required to deliver market leading propositions for customers.

You’ll work to maximise profitable growth opportunities by working collaboratively with Brokers to influence performance and support them in delivering underwriting returns.

This role is home based with regular travel to Broker offices. The amount of time you spend visiting Brokers will vary depending on the activities you are required to support and you’ll anticipate demand in advance to allow you to balance your time and have control over your diary to ensure a positive work-life balance.

 

The Candidate:

You will have extensive commercial underwriting experience with a track record of managing more complex and technical cases across a range of commercial risks.

You’ll be able to demonstrate your ability to effectively coach and guide others to achieve

This is an exciting new position within the business which will offer you an opportunity to really shape the role, relationships with Brokers and working practices.

It is therefore important that you possess exceptional communication skills with proven experience of building effective and lasting working relationships, with the confidence to challenge and influence.

 

Salary/Benefits Information:

Salary – up to £55k depending on experience

Annual bonus up to 17.5%

Company car or car allowance (£5500 pa)

Contributory pension scheme (up to 12% employer contribution)

25 days annual leave (opportunity to purchase more)
