National Sales Manager

Established for almost 30 years, this is a c£20 million turnover British designer, manufacturer and supplier of beautifully crafted garden products that supplies discerning retail customers throughout the Uk and parts of Europe. Their field sales and head office team have a shared passion for industry-leading customer service and they continue to set the highest standards within their channel.  


The Role: National Sales Manager:


This is a challenging, hands-on, customer focused National Sales Manager’s role in a high-quality business. The job holder will work closely with the senior management team but take ultimate responsibility for delivering the company’s sales goals through the field sales and sales support team.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Agree and set sales objectives nationally and by region
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with all team members
  • Coach improvement through field accompaniments
  • Analyse sales data and report performance against target in all channels
  • Monitor and report on competitor activities alongside market opportunities
  • Actively participate in trade exhibitions


The job holder is likely to be at head office near Crawley for 2 days each week and field / home based for the remainder


Candidate profile: National Sales Manager:


We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager with the skills and personality to inherit and develop an established sales team and take them to even higher levels of performance. Key qualities include:


  • A home location in the South East and prepared to travel as required
  • Proven track record of success as a sales person and as a Sales Manager
  • A wealth of knowledge of selling to independent and multi-site retailers
  • A coaching leadership style that empowers and energises others

  • Excellent presentation, communication and customer relationship skills
  • A hands-on style. Comfortable in leading sales presentations to key customers


The Reward:

A negotiable basic salary to £45,000 with an OTE of £60,000 plus company car or car allowance.
