Description

An opportunity has arisen for an Injury Claims Handler to deal with EL/PL and/or Motor Personal Injury Claims in the large corporate team of a well-respected insurance organisation. You will investigate and process claims within limits of authority and in accordance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, applying criteria to prevent loss and fraud to deliver fair outcomes and first class customer service.

Job Specification

  • Handling third party personal injury claims in a cost effective manner in accordance with the group guidelines, procedures and claims philosophy.
  • Claims handled will mainly be portal claims, although will involve some outside of this also.
  • Decide on legal liability and policy liability issues.
  • Compliance with all regulatory and internal systems controls.
  • Identifying cases which may be suitable for the group fraud and rehabilitation programmes.
  • Initiating and coordinating investigations into liability and quantum.
  • Negotiating with claimants and their representatives.
  • Reviewing and estimating on current claims files.
  • Handling litigation and fraud cases.
  • Client liaison in accordance with individual client requirements.

Person Specification

  • Injury claims experience, ideally within EL/PL.
  • A commitment to the importance of excellent customer service.
  • Sound judgement and strong negotiating skills.
  • The ability to meet challenging deadlines and department quality and service standards.
